Callum Macrae has directed, reported, filmed and executive-produced a large number of television programmes, including some thirty Dispatches, and has made films for BBC’s Panorama, PBS’s flagship science strand NOVA in the United States, ITV’s Network First,  FIVE’s Stranger than Fiction and many other single docs. He also works in radio and writes regularly for national newspapers and periodicals.  He has worked across several genres including current affairs, science, history and business.  His output has included  investigations,  observationl documentaries and closely argued polemics, and he has won several awards including the Royal Television Society Award, Campaigning Journalist of the Year Award, the Wincott Business Programme of the Year Award, the Indie  Award and other awards and nominations. Two of his major investigations resulted in multi-million pound government inquiries.  He has acted as script doctor and executive producer for both Channel Four and FIVE, presented radio programmes and provided editorial consultancy and voiceovers for UK broadcasters.

Jazz Matharu

Jazz Matharu: Accountant and Director

Jazz Matharu has been Outsider’s accountant since the company began.  He trained with Price Waterhouse, London, specialising and advising the TOP 100 companies on their domestic and international needs. His clients included, Walt Disney, Universal Pictures, MCA, and Motown as well as some international banks. Having been trained in tax by one of the best firms in the world, he left in 1991 to start his own tax practice where he could combine his work with his hobbies. His clients include some well known personalities, gifted directors, producers, actors, photographers, presenters, writers and many people behind the scenes.    Through his work, Jazz is a Trustee of Save The Amazon Rainforest Organisation charity, STARO, and a member of The Arts Club in Mayfair. Although a long time resident of South Kensington, he keeps in touch with his Yorkshire roots by following Leeds United.

Alex Sutherland:  Executive Producer and Consultant (and co-founder)

Alex Sutherland is a freelance consultant and senior executive producer with Outsider Television and a number of independent television companies and broadcasters, including Dragonfly Film and Television and National Geographic Channels.  In the past two years she has been the executive producer on a 4-part natural history series Among the Apes, presented by Charlotte Uhlenbroek for FIVE and BBC Worldwide, two series of National Geographic’s Greatest British Machines with Chris Barrie, the BBC1 documentary From Woolies to Wellies: One Woman’s Fight for the High Street, and Channel 4’s factual entertainment series Worlds and Me… presented by Mark Dolan.  She has also worked as an executive producer for September Films (Extraordinary People for FIVE), and acted as a consultant for the new owners of Pathe.   She worked for six years as a commissioning editor for UK broadcasters Channel 4 and FIVE, commissioning a wide range of popular, successful and award-winning programmes, formats and series. As Controller of History at FIVE, she was responsible for building up the successful and award-winning history strand Revealed, as well as commissioning series such as Disappearing Britain and Big Ideas that Changed the World.

Livvy Haydock: Research, Development and Production Assistant.

Livvy Haydock first met Outsider through a work experience placement on an Outsider Production for Panorama.  Having discovered a passion for working within a production environment Livvy enrolled at the London College of Communications gaining a Masters in Journalism (Broadcast pathway.) Whilst on the course she took another work placement with Films Of Record working on another Panorama.  Having gained the Masters Livvy returned to Outsider developing ideas and working on various productions including a two part series for Al Jazeera.  With an interest in crime Livvy has worked on various short films involving some of Britain’s most notorious criminals, gangs and unlicensed fighters.  Livvy is currently working on a number of ambitious development projects for Outsider.
